I am writing to ask the City to approve the rezoning of the parcel at 7170 E McDonald Drive from C-O (Commercial Office) to C-1 (Neighborhood Commercial) so that this established small business can continue to serve the community.

It is my understanding that the immediate commercial neighbors of Gina’s Wellness Center along Scottsdale Road between McDonald Drive and Lincoln Drive are predominantly zoned C-2 or C-1, while Gina’s parcel carries the more restrictive C-O designation. The rezoning would align the parcel with the commercial zoning of its immediate neighbors — and would allow Gina’s to renew its license and remain open.

This is not a request for new construction or any change to the building. It is a paperwork correction that lets a trusted local business stay in business. I respectfully ask the Commission and the Council to approve it.
